The Boston Marathon 2010

The Boston Marathon was founded by the Boston Athletic Association on April 19, 1897 and is the world’s oldest annually contested marathon. The Marathon is run on the day celebrating Patriot’s Day, the third Monday in April. In 2010 the race date is April 19th.

The 26-mile race is limited to a field of 25,000 runners. Over 500,000 spectators will line the course that extends from rural Hopkinton to downtown Boston.
